(Burbank, CA):  Television and feature film production has been defecting from their traditional roots in California to other states in order to take advantage of attractive tax credits and other incentives.  This has caused a slowdown in all levels of businesses associated with production; from camera operators to caterers.

Producer and studio owner, Bob Bekian, has just finished an extensive re-modeling of his Loyal Studios location in Burbank, incorporating the latest technical tools into his facility in order to provide a reduced cost to producers.  “We are a leader in Green Screen technology, and have installed one of the most advanced 360 degree lighting systems in our industry,” Bekian says.  This allows for very quick set-ups in our studio, saving an average of 20% on preparation time, which leads to more shots completed during the day.

Another important feature the studio has developed is a fully-integrated control room with the studio.  This allows for editors and file managers to work in tandem with the camera operators to assemble and edit footage immediately during a day in the studio, allowing for immediate revisions and notes.  “We have incorporated the latest HD storage and file management technology into our facilities so that producers can reduce costs and keep production value high.”  The strategy is paying off with several of the big studios turning to Loyal Studios to augment their production slates, recently Pacific Rim, Movie 43, and Prometheus have all shot sequences at Loyal Studios.

Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise: ‘Mission Impossible’ Actor Sues Life & Style, In Touch For $50 Million

The message is pretty clear: Don’t mess with Tom Cruise. The “Mission Impossible” actor has filed a $50 million lawsuit against Life & Style and In Touch magazines for claiming that Cruise had abandoned his daughter, Suri, 6.

Both magazines, which are owned by Bauer Publishing, ran similar headlines in the months following Cruise’s June divorce from his estranged wife, Katie Holmes. The Life & Style story in question ran in July and alleged “Suri in Tears: Abandoned by Her Dad.” Meanwhile, In Touch magazine ran a cover story on Oct. 1 that pictured a sad-looking Suri with a similar headline, “Abandoned by Daddy.”

Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields confirmed that Cruise, 50, made the action against Bauer Publishing on Wednesday at the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, saying that the tabloids’ claims were “a disgusting, vicious lie.”

TMZ has Fields’ statement in full:

“Tom is a caring father who dearly loves Suri. She’s a vital part of his life and always will be. To say he has ‘abandoned’ her is a vicious lie. To say it in lurid headlines with a tearful picture of Suri is reprehensible.Tom doesn’t go around suing people. He’s not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he’s going to sue.”

These serial defamers are foreign owned companies with their global headquarters in Hamburg. They take money from unsuspecting Americans by selling their malicious garbage. Having to pay a libel judgment may slow them down.”

This isn’t the first time that Cruise has sued a publication. The actor has also sued the Daily Express, National Enquirer and Vanity Fair in the past.

Tom Cruise gets off cheaply in divorce from Katie Holmes

More details are emerging about the lightning-quick divorce of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, and, as was the case during his previous divorce from actress Nicole Kidman, Cruise is getting off pretty easy.

Citing sources familiar with the court documents, a report at TMZ says that Holmes will not receive a lump-sum payout, meaning that Cruise gets to keep most of his $250 million fortune.

TMZ also says that Holmes is not getting spousal support, but her ex will pay her $400,000 a year in child support until their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, turns 18. He reportedly will cover Suri’s medical and dental care and education.

In addition, sources told TMZ, the settlement says that the couple agrees that Suri will not attend a residential school. That means she won’t be sent to the Delphian, a Scientology school in Oregon that her big sister Isabella — Cruise’s daughter with Kidman — attended.
