Beliebers barking about name for new pooch!

beiberdogSometimes it takes an army of Beliebers to come to a decision.

That was precisely the case when it came to naming Justin Bieber’s new bulldog puppy.

The singer’s father, Jeremy Bieber, asked fans on Twitter to send their name options through the social media site in an effort to find the best moniker for the pet pooch.

“So were gona let one lucky #belieber name @justinbieber s new puppy… find out how it can be you,” he wrote over the weekend.

It took less than 24 hours for the winning name, Karma, to be chosen.

“So we have got a name selected for the newest Bieber,” Jeremy shared. “Big thanks to @justinfredos the Belieber who chose it ‘Karma.'”

E! News first reported that the “Confident” singer stopped by Ruffin’s Pet Centre in Stratford, Ontario, last week with his family and purchased a 7-week-old American bulldog.

The adorable pup originally came from a breeder.

According to the store, the 19-year-old spotted the dog, left the store, and then came back to buy the four-legged fur ball.

So just how is the latest addition to the family settling into his new home?

Well, Jeremy revealed on Twitter that the rambunctious pup is extremely playful and already the center of attention.

“Karma is a lil biter lol,” he wrote on Sunday.

Puppies will be puppies!

Justin Bieber releases new single ‘Heartbreaker’

The singer released his first new song in ages, an R&B ballad titled ‘Heartbreaker,’ and apparently refers to his romance with Selena Gomez.

The singer released his first new song in ages, an R&B ballad titled ‘Heartbreaker,’ and apparently refers to his romance with Selena Gomez.

Justin Bieber released a new single on Monday, his first sign of new music since January, as part of a 10-week “Music Mondays” plan to debut new music. The pop star, 19, announced the iTunes release of “Heartbreaker,” an R&B ballad. “It’s a song for people going through heartbreak – like I was when I wrote it,” Bieber wrote, in a description posted on Twitter.

“It means so much to me to be able to share what I was, and still am going through, with my fans. I’m very proud of this song and I hope it gives my fans some insight into my heart.”

He’s likely referring to the split from singer Selena Gomez. Bieber and Gomez, 21, went separate ways in November, but the apparent on-and-off couple have been seen together in several instances since then.

“He and I have such a history together,” Gomez said of her ex in an interview with “Good Morning America.” “I’ll always care about him and protect him if anyone tries to be mean.”

The not-so-subtle allusion to his on-and-off romance with Gomez comes through in the pop star’s first new music since ‘Believe: Acoustic.’ In “Heartbreaker,” Bieber sings a solemn tune of still wanting the love he recently had. “So what I’m really tryin’ to say is, and what I hope you understand/ Is despite all the imperfections of who I am I still wanna be your man” he sings.

“This is for me and you/And I want you to know that I still love you.”

Justin Bieber’s Stolen Laptop: Hoax or No Hoax?

Justin Bieber Nude Photo

Justin Bieber Tweets this photo as part of his “hoax”

It all started on Wednesday, when the “Boyfriend” singer tweeted to his 29 million followers, “Yesterday during the show me and my tour manager Josh had some stuff stolen. Really sucks. People should respect other’s property.” He was apparently referring to his computer, which was stolen during a tour stop in Tacoma, Washington. Coming as it did after a “SWATting” of his Calabasas home by pranksters, it seemed like Bieber was getting it from every direction.

Rumors immediately began to circulate that the hard drive contained several things Bieber did not want the world to see, including a naked photo (a headless shot of a nude boy’s body not unlike Bieber’s started making the rounds on Twitter) and an allegedly illicit video, teased throughout the week by a Twitter user named @gexwy who claimed to have the laptop and have successfully cracked Bieber’s password. Bieber at one point responded directly to @gexwy, pledging, “No matter what you have and what you post tomorrow I know my fans won’t leave me. Screw it. #toostrong.”

Yesterday, @gexwy linked to the video he had been promising for days — and it brought Twitter users to the brand new video for Bieber’s duet with Nicki Minaj, “Beauty and a Beat.”

Sorry, Internet! You’ve just been Biebered.

But not so fast: Bieber’s publicist Melissa Victor now tells the Associated Press that the laptop actually was stolen during that Tacoma show. “Be very clear, the laptop was indeed stolen in Tacoma. That was NOT a hoax,” Victor wrote in an email.

Further investigation by the AP into the matter found that a police report was filed online in Tacoma, but police spokesman Mark Fulghum said not much happened beyond that.

“A lot of people got played,” a suspicious Fulghum said. “It became a big media frenzy, so I guess that was the idea.”

So what really happened? An unfortunate situation spun on the fly into a viral marketing campaign? Or are we being had on top of being had?

Burn us once, Bieber ..

Lawyer in Bieber case fights anti-paparazzi law

A paparazzo charged with recklessly pursuing Justin Bieber for photos will challenge the constitutionality of the law targeting aggressive celebrity-hounding tactics, his attorney said Friday.

Justin Bieber poses for photos prior to a press conference at a hotel in Mexico City.

Attorney David S. Kestenbaum filed a motion asking a judge to declare that the 2010 California statute penalizing those who drive recklessly in pursuit of commercial photos is unconstitutional.

The 17-page motion argues the law used to charge his client, Paul Raef, violates First Amendment protections for the press and is too broad.

Kestenbaum filed the motion during a brief hearing that neither Raef nor Bieber attended. The photographer was charged last month with four misdemeanor counts after a July 6 high-speed pursuit on a Los Angeles freeway involving the pop singer and other paparazzi.

Raef is the first person charged under the law.

The motion does not address the specifics of the incident, but rather challenges the law on constitutional grounds. It contends the law is vague because state vehicle codes do not adequately define what would be a photo taken for commercial purposes.

“First and foremost, the statute unconstitutionally singles out the press for a special penalty,” themotion states.

A judge will hear the motion during a hearing on Sept. 24. Raef has not yet entered a plea in the case.

Raef, 30, was not arrested during the chase. However, his license plate was reported to police, who investigated and presented the case to city prosecutors. They charged Raef on July 25, but when the photographer appeared for booking, Kestenbaum said police were unaware of the new law and he was not processed.

Kestenbaum said he expects the case will likely end up in an appeals court, regardless of any ruling by a criminal court judge.

Raef has also been charged with more traditional reckless driving and for following other cars too closely.

Prosecutors allege he chased Bieber at more than 80 mph and forced other motorists to avoid collisions while Raef tried to get shots of the teen heartthrob.

Justin Bieber, Movie Star? “If I Have Anything to Do With it,” Says Mark Wahlberg

Justin Bieber and Mark Wahlberg

Justin Bieber and Mark Wahlberg talk movies

Justin Bieber is getting closer to making his big-time transition from music phenom to movie superstar.

The Biebs’ pal Mark Wahlberg gave us an update on the script for the upcoming basketball flick that he the 18-year-old “Boyfriend” singer have been working on.

“We got a first draft,” Wahlberg told us while promoting Marked, his new sports nutrition line for GNC. “They did an edit on the script and got to make some changes and do a little bit of rewrite and polish but I’ve been in contact with [Justin’s] managers and the studio a lot. We just want to make it great and we’re getting there.”

The flick will star Bieber as a basketball player. “I think of Paul Newman and Tom Cruise in The Color of Money but in the world of inner city basketball,” Wahlberg dished.

Paul Newman and Tom Cruise? Those are some big shoes for the Biebs to fill!

“I just think personally we have a great idea,” Wahlberg said. “He’s a great athlete…he’s focused and he wants to have success in the movie world and acting as well. He’s focused and patient about finding the right particular part, working with the right people and I think he’d do a great job. I think we have good chemistry and like I said he’s right for this particular part and it’s an idea we’ve had for a while.”

So can we expect to see Bieber on the big screen by next year? “Possibly, if I have anything to do with it,” Wahlberg said.

And for the record, Wahlberg isn’t the only Bieber fan in his family. “My sons are [fans] and my youngest daughter is, but my oldest daughter is not a fan,” the 41-year-old Fighter star said, adding, “I think it’s when Selena Gomez came into the picture.”
