Fame didn’t matter much to Frankenstorm.

Hurricane Sandy tore through New York City and surrounding areas Monday night, causing severe flooding and leaving thousands powerless. Lots of stars—including “Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg, whose entire apartment was under a foot of water—felt the effects.

Wahlberg faced the wrath of Hurricane Sandy head on, when his New York apartment was flooded out by the superstorm. Wahlberg posted a series of status updates on his Twitter account on Monday, which showed him trudging through more than a foot of water in his apartment building.

At one point the former New Kid on the Block singer tweeted: “My entire building is under a foot of water. Awesome neighbors all banding together to help each other! Stay safe!

Later he tweeted: “Safe & Sound on Higher Ground! Don’t worry about me. Material things are meaningless. Check in with those you know in the storm! Stay safe!!

Alec Baldwin tweeted that he and wife Hilaria Baldwinhad lost power and were “Possibly leaving our home to check into a hotel.”

Piers Morgan was impressed with the resilience of Gotham City. “Got to hand it to New Yorkers, they’re tough as old boots,” the native Brit tweeted. “loads of people out in Manhattan today, carrying on as normal. #Sandy”

Khloé Kardashian Odom tweeted that she was “Praying for the victims of hurricane Sandy!” A fan asked her if Lamar Odom‘s Queens-based family was OK, and she responded, “Yes thank God! Making our phone calls to double check :(”

“Wow…Sandy is one mean lady! Lots of thoughts, prayers and love going out to all in her path…you guys stay strong!,” Carrie Underwood tweeted.

Kirstie Alley echoed those sentiments, tweeting, “oh NYC…I’m so sad for you…so much devastation and clean up to do..Let us know how to help”

East Coast, stay safe!
