The Bachelor’s Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson Call It Quits

The Bachelor’s Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson

Wow. We did not see this breakup coming! Unless, of course, you were a fan of every other Bachelor and Bachelorette romance that has bitten the dust since those shows premiered, in which case you probably weren’t so optimistic about this relationship.

Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson, the most recent betrothed couple to come out of The Bachelor, have broken up after nine months together, E! News has confirmed.

“After meeting over a year ago, we have decided to end our romantic relationship,” Flajnik and Robertson said in a joint statement. “The ups and downs weighed heavily on us both, and ultimately we started to grow apart because of the distance, time apart, and our need to focus on our respective careers.”

Those “ups and downs” could be in reference to the fact that Ben broke up with Courtney right after the finale, which he admitted on the After the Final Rose special.Or maybe it was the rumor that he cheated on her when photos surfaced of Ben kissing another girl?

Regardless of all that, their engagement was a rocky road from the beginning, which is why we thought they might make it work because they told us they were“taking it slow” and not in a any hurry to get married. But that was back in March, and now it seems that their slow time together did not help the relationship.

For those keeping score, after 16 seasons of The Bachelor, and seven seasons of The Bachelorette, only three couples are still together. If those people can’t find love on a television reality show, then what hope is there for the rest of us?

Simon Cowell and Will.I.Am Plan A New Tech Based X-Factor

Will I Am Loyal Studios

Will I Am works on “Curiosity” at Loyal Studios in Burbank http://www.loyalstudios.tv

With hopes of finding the next Bill Gates of the modern tech age, television mogul, Simon Cowell, and Black Eyed Pea’s Will.i.am have partnered up for a collaboration which Will.i.am calls “… X Factor for Tech — and it’s going to be out of this world.”

The two allegedly had a “wicked dinner” in Los Angeles last month, as they discussed plans for their potential T.V. show, according to Will.i.am. He made the announcement for their idea at a technology conference held in England some time ago.

The idea for the new “Techs Factor” show has drawn a lot of comparisons with another reality television show called Shark Tank, where various entrepreneurs and inventors try and convince rich “Sharks” to invest in them and their idea.

Very similarly to this, Cowell and Will.i.am are out to find the next Bill Gates and Steve Jobs from the tech world, and if they can find and invest in them early on, their X Factor for tech could spell them some very big bucks.

Regardless of his motivations for the show, Will.i.am has been a strong supporter of bringing children closer

towards the math and sciences, with his charity work to raise over 7 million dollars for an East Los Angeles school that focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Education, and Math) principles. He has also been advocating and promoting STEM for some time now, and has worked with NASA on several STEM projects in the past.

On the other hand, it could be Simon Cowell’s attempt at another successful reality T.V. show, though when he broke away from American Idol he promised at least twenty million views for X Factor, which he failed to deliver. Regardless, we can keep it in mind among the next branch of upcoming television shows, and who knows, we might find out what the Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson of the tech world look like.

Seacrest: No problem with feuding judges

american idol judges

New judges for “American Idol,” from left, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj and during a news conference in New York.

Feuding divas on “American Idol“? Ryan Seacrest says that’s just great.

The show’s host said Wednesday that things got intense between new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey during a tryout taping the previous day in Charlotte, N.C.

Amid a dispute over a contestant, Minaj announced that she was no longer putting up with “her … Highness,” in a reference to Carey and with a few expletives added in.

Another new judge, Keith Urban, was in the unenviable position of sitting between the two of them.

On his radio show, Seacrest said “Idol” needs some passionate debate.

“It did get intense,” he said. “We want that. We want them to be on this panel together. This is a good team, a great team, to go out and look for the next American Idol … the feedback that they give is very good.”

“American Idol” is still the nation’s most popular show despite a dramatic fall-off in ratings last season that led to three new judges joining Randy Jackson. The show’s new season premieres in January.

A Fox representative said Wednesday the network has no comment on its feuding judges.
