Chris Brown arrested for assault last night in D.C.

Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning (Oct. 27) for felony assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel, TMZ reports.

According to ABC News, a D.C. police spokeswoman said Brown got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel at 15th and Pennsylvania Avenue at 4:30 a.m. Brown reportedly began punching the man after the situation got heated. Officials believe he was not under the influence of anything at the time of the incident.

CNN reports that Brown’s bodyguard was also jailed following the altercation.

Brown is currently in custody and will be held until court on Monday (Oct. 28), since he is not eligible for release until seeing a judge, a source told ABC News. As for the other man, TMZ has learned that he’s being evaluated at a D.C. hospital.

This arrest could be very bad news for Brown, considering he is still on probation for the Rihanna beating case. If he did violate his probation with this incident, worst case scenario, Brown could be sentenced to nearly four years in prison.

He was in D.C. to host a Howard University Homecoming after party.

Chris Brown probation court appearance delayed

Chris Brown’s probation hearing was pushed back to give authorities more time to complete a probation report in the singer’s assault case.

The R&B singer had been scheduled to appear in court on Monday for the first time in more than a year, but the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office says the proceedings are being delayed for a week.

A judge has ordered an audit of Brown’s community service after a prosecutor said there were some questions about how many hours he had actually performed.

Brown is on probation for the 2009 beating of his then-girlfriend Rihanna and had been ordered to perform six months’ worth of community service, including graffiti removal, roadside cleanup and other manual labor.

Brown has so far completed his terms with praise from a judge.

Rihanna and Chris Brown share a kiss at the VMAs

Wait, what?!

Was it just a simple greeting? Was it more? Does it matter? Rihanna and Chris Brown were spotted exchanging a, um, warm embrace that brought up many questions, which were followed by head-shaking and sighs.

So what the h-e-double hockey sticks is going on here?

At some point during tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards, Ri-Ri was caught giving Breezy a kiss while passing through the crowd. And granted, this photo doesn’t exactly tell whether it was a friendly peck on the cheek or a slightly-more-than-friendly peck on the lips, but regardless, the shock value is still the same.

Rihanna has openly said (to Oprah Winfrey, nonetheless) that she and Brown have rebuilt their friendship and that she still loves him, not to mention also acknowledging that Chris is in a relationship.

Drake and Chris Brown Sued for $16 Million Over Nightclub Brawl

Drake and Chris Brown

Chris Brown and Drake have been hit with a $16 million dollar lawsuit over their June brawl at the joint NYC nightclubs Greenhouse and WiP, reports the New York Post. Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., who own the trademark to the Greenhouse’s name, claim they had a $4 million licensing deal ruined because of bad press following the incident. The company believes Drake and Brown should be held responsible for their lost profits, calling their behavior “beyond the bounds of reason” and stating that the two “should have foreseen that their notoriety and celebrity would ensure that their acts had far-reaching and devastating effects.”

The lawsuit paints Drake and Brown in active roles that night, having arrived at the club with huge entourages. “On defendant Brown and and defendant Drake’s instructions, their two posses had at each other, throwing highball glasses laden with alcohol, shattering the handles of bottles of spirits to use as makeshift knives, and even throwing full bottles at each other. Within seconds, defendants filled an already packed nightclub full of flying glass shrapnel,” reads the suit.

The current owners of Greenhouse and WiP are not in Entertainment Enterprises. NBA athlete Tony Parker, an unaffiliated bystander whose eye was seriously injured during the brawl, sued the owners of the clubs for $20 million.
